Yes, it is a sticky bonus. From their T&C:

The bonus credits are for wagering purpose only, and you may not cash out the bonus amount.

Hey guys, love the website, quick question, if you get a sticky bonus of say $100 for a $100 deposit, giving you a total of $200, and then play blackjack using flat betting, you have an expected loss on average of about 0.5%, surely this means that over a long period of time, it is inevitable that you will lose?! Can someone really lay it out for me, because if the casinos do not accept roulette as a way of reaching your WR then how can people be making money off of stickys?!

Thanks

Johnson

Disciplined 'Sticky Players' make far more  money than 'Grinders'.  Using your example of a $100 Deposit and a $100 Sticky Bonus, and a very conservative Sticky strategy, you would bet 1/4 x (D + B) and play until you either reached a target of 2 x (D + B) or busted.

With this target and this bet size, according to the math, you would be successful in reaching your target 49.6% of the time.  For simplicity, lets call this 50-50.  Say on your 1st one you busted.  You are now -$100 from your pocket.  The next one you hit your target.  Once you hit your target, you grind out the rest of the WR with small, flat bets.  If the WR is $10,000 (typical on something like this), then while grinding you would theoretically lose only $50.  Well, when you hit your target, you had $400 - $100 Sticky Bonus - $100 Deposit, or + $200 profit.  Losing the additional $50 or so grinding leaves you with $150 profit.  So after 2 plays, you're + $50 ahead (- 100 + 150).  Do 6 of these a day, and you make $150 per day.

Then, there are some non-sticky bonuses that you can play 'sticky-style'.  In addition to the money that you made above, you can also keep the bonus.  6 of those types per day give you + $450 per day.  But I don't know if you can find 6 of those per day.

I have played sticky-style only twice.  The first one I hit my target in 4 hands and cashed out then, leaving the bonus, putting $180 in my pocket off a $50 deposit.  The other, I busted in 17 hands, losing my $50 deposit.  So you're finished with them quick.  Plenty of time to go on to the next one.

But it takes a special person to play sticky-style.  I'm not one of them, for I am not comfortable making big bets and knowing that I'm going to lose more than 1/2 the time.  But if you're able to see the big picture and don't mind the small losses, you'll make more money than a grinder with the much bigger wins that you'll get.

The way that you make money from stickies, is by using the casinos money.

A lot of stickies are what we call no play ones. This means that you can withdraw at any point.

So if you have a $100 deposit + $100 bonus, you start with $200.  If your target is a simple double up, then about half the time you will make it and half the time you will bust out.

If you make it, you have won $200 ($400 less $100 deposit, less $100 sticky bonus)  If you lose you lose only $100

So half the time you win $200, half the time you lose $100

Absolutely not, in my opinion.

20 losses in a row are not uncommon.

Hey all, if sticky's aren't recommended for small bankrolls, what size bankroll should you have before playing them? Thanks, Tommy

I've read where one guy lost 26 in a row.  20 losses (busts) in a row are not uncommon.  So if you deposit merely $100 each time, and bust 30 times in a row, that alone requires a bankroll of $3000.

So Would you recommend starting at that number? (ie $3000) I ask because my current bankroll is approx. £1000 and so all i need is another £500 to make that $3000 bankroll.

Groucho, as fender suggested in the other thread where you made the same question, why don't you just give it a try to the monthlies and keep on growing your bankroll?. If time is the problem classify the bonuses and start doing those with the highest EV and then work your way through the rest.

With a 100 GBP bankroll I wouldn't try sticky bonuses yet, I assume you won't be playing all your bonuses in US$, you'll play some in Euros and some in GBP, so your bankroll is not big enough in my opinion.

Jumping to stickies requires some previous research, a lot of discipline and like bob said "balls" to play them. Not everybody is ready to throw in 100€ or 200€ bet. If you lose your first bet and it was let's say 100€ you just can't chicken out and start grinding at 5€ a hand because you are scared to lose all your money, that's not the way to play a sticky, and you have to be ready to go through or stickies will eat your bankroll in the blink of an eye
